Karan Johar regrets fighting with Priyanka Chopra !

Karan Johar and Priyanka Chopra's fight is one of the most famous fights of Bollywood. When Priyanka Chopra's friend said something against Karan Johar in an interview to a tabloid, Karan Johar took to Twitter and slammed Priyanka Chopra, by calling her spineless. But the filmmaker now regrets fighting with Priyanka Chopra and says that he overacted.

In an interview to TOI, Karan Johar said, "I picked up the phone and reacted like a pressure cooker. Then I realised it wasn't worth it. I called her and said I was turning 40. I have a great EQ (emotional quotient) with her. I've shared several warm moments with PeeCee. Since I am the older one, I decided to be mature."

When asked about Priyanka Chopra's picture at Salman Khan's house in the newspaper, Karan Johar said, "I am only interested in what is written about me."

Well, as everyone says there are no permanent friends or enemies in Bollywood!

Emraan Hashmi, the most underrated actor: Salman Khan

Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan is one such actor, who understands well the worth of true talent. After giving break to several newbies in the tinselville, Salman feels that Emraan Hashmi, being a superb actor, should receive his due now.

According to Salman Khan, Emraan Hashmi is the most under-rated hero. "Emraan Hashmi is the most under-rated hero. He should get his dues. He is giving hits after hits today. He is the most celebrated name. I like him and his work," Salman said. Emraan, the Bollywood's serial kisser, is currently rising very high with his latest hit movie Raaz 3.

That's not the end of it, Salman also praised Preity Zinta. He said, "She is a very good producer. It is a fact that she can never keep quiet. It is a very nice romantic film...I have seen the rushes and I liked it." Reacting to this, Preity Zinta also showered praises on the actor. "Salman is a good friend. He is a solid guy. Even when nobody was there with me during the court cases relating to IPL, Salman was the only one who stood by me," she said.

What are Shahrukh Khan’s two conditions before signing any film?

Not everybody knows that Superstar Shahrukh Khan always keeps two conditions before filmmakers while signing any film's contract.

According to a leading Shahrukh Khan's two conditions are, " Shahrukh Khan's film contract reportedly made two things clear: One, the actor will not lock lips with his heroine on screen; two, he will not ride a horse. The second condition came into being after SRK experienced severe back pain a few years ago."

Due to his back pain Shahrukh Khan also underwent a major cervical surgery few years back. Talking about his surgery Shahrukh Khan had said, ''I'm fine but its too early to say. One does not really know how good or bad a surgery is till life goes on. But as always, the spirit cannot be stymied.''

Well, we understand why Shahrukh says no to ride a horse but it seems that the actor is really scared of his wife Gauri that is why he does not kiss any actress onscreen!

Why Shah Rukh Khan Has To Face More Competition Than Salman Khan?

After months of suspense surrounding the Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer YRF romance we thought to compare and highlight the facts surrounding the release dates and scale of movies with or around ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ and ‘ Ek Tha Tiger’ which had Katrina Kaif with Salman Khan.

When Ek Tha Tiger release was announced with huge number of prints many movies changed their release dates- either postponed or preponed so as to not cross the release date of Ek Tha Tiger. The movies which released were small budget movies which sank without a trace at the box office.

Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger released on 15th August with Independence day and Eid festivities just around the corner.

Jism 2 released 12 days before Ek Tha Tiger and with the hype of Sunny Leone managed to rake in approx 33 crores in its opening week and later sank. Gangs of Wasseypur 2 which released on a Wednesday ruled 1 week at the box office before release of the Salman Khan starrer. GOW2 faced a stiff competition once Ek Tha Tiger was released and hence showed a decline in box office collections. Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikhal Padi a small release which released 10 days after Ek Tha Tiger also suffered the after effects of the hurricane.

Other big releases like Saif Ali Khan-Deepika starrer Cocktail, Kya Super Kool Hain Hum distanced their release dates from the Salman Khan release and also reaped benefits due to their soundtracks and content.
Aamir Khan In Talaash Movie And Ajay Devgan In Son Of Sardar Movie

Shahrukh Khan – Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ which also has announced its Diwali 2012 release plans well in advance has got big competitors ready to eating up the screen space. Many film-makers are keen to sought out the Diwali release slots, due to the extensive holiday season.

Jab Tak Hain Jaan releases on 13th November 2012, along with Ajay Devgan’s Son of Sardaar. This will eat into screen space for Shah Rukh Khan and also give a hit on the opening numbers. The highest single day collection record is held by Ek Tha Tiger with 32+ crores and followed by Ra.One at Rs 25 crores. Ra.One didn’t have much competition to lose out for.

Around 2 weeks after SRK’s and Ajay’s movie releases, comes up another mega star’s release who holds the record of highest collection. Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots is currently the biggest blockbuster with 202 crores + collection at Indian box office with Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger close behind with 196crores+ as on date. Aamir Khan’s Talaash will snatch screen space on 30th November giving just around 2 weeks for SRK and Ajay Devgn to fight it out their maximum at the box office. Needless to say content of these three movies will play an important role for their collections and long run.

To summarize are the news makers right in stating that Shah Rukh Khan enjoys strong enmity among him contemporaries like Salman, Aamir and Ajay Devgn? However discussions on social media forums suggest that Shah Rukh Khan is always targeted by friends and foes to be pulled down. Or another fact that Salman Khan has now become an Icon amongst the masses who is feared the maximum and can’t be touched at the Bollywood Box Office?

Ileana house hunting in Mumbai

After a successful innings in the southern film industry, Ileana D'Cruz wants to make it big in Bollywood. With plans to settle here, she is looking for a perfect pad for herself in the city of dreams.

Her first Bollywood release is " Barfi!", which is coming out Sep 14. In the Anurag Basu directed movie Ileana will be seen sharing screen space withRanbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra."My parents are presently living in Goa. I am looking for a place in Mumbai so that they can shift here with me. I want to settle down in Mumbai. So right now I am hunting for a house in the city," the 24-year-old told IANS.

In 2006, she bowed in movies with Telugu film "Devadasu" and has since worked in many southern movies including "Pokiri", "Jalsa" and "Kick".

"My father recently called me and said he is extremely proud of my work and for me that's a huge achievement. He has never been biased. He will never compliment unless he means it. It is very flattering," she said.

Being in showbiz means looking fit and attractive and she admits that she is conscious about it.

"I am very conscious about my body. When you are in the limelight, people criticise your looks. It takes a lot of time for me to get comfortable. When people say that you have a good physique, there is a constant state of disbelief. But I am not shy. Looking pretty and doing make up is part of my job," she said.

Heroine is my bravest role: Kareena Kapoor

Actress Kareena Kapoor believes that her portrayal of a fading Bollywood superstar in Heroine is her bravest role so far.

The film, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, is said to have been inspired by real-life incidents from B-town and Kareena says not many actresses would have taken the risk of accepting this role.

"I wanted to be a heroine since my childhood. I am happy that Heroine has turned out to be my bravest role. Not many actresses would want to play the role of a declining superstar," Kareena told PTI.

"Typically you see films where a star's journey is shown from rise to fall and then rise. In Heroinethat's not the case as from the very first frame you can see that this superstar is declining," she adds.

Kareena accepted the part because she connected with the character of Mahi Arora and also felt that this was a challenge worth taking.

"I always take challenges when it comes to performance oriented roles and Heroine isn't something that I could have missed. I played a prostitute at the age of 22 when many people around me said that it was a wrong move and said I was way too young to pick up such a part.

"Still, I was convinced to play the part so I did it. Similarly when not many would have been courageous enough to take up the part of 'Heroine', I went ahead and did that. The character is such that you feel connected to it and really feel bad about what she is going through," she says.

Bhandarkar had first offered the film to Kareena and when things couldn't work out due to date issues, he had taken the film to Aishwarya Rai. Later when Aishwarya got pregnant, it was time for Kareena to return to the film with her date diary being sorted out.

"As I have always maintained, it was destiny coming into play. Moreover, every film comes with akundli of its own. I feel whatever happens, it is ultimately for the best."

As for comparisons with the character of Mahi Arora, Kareena says that it is way too extreme since in real life she is very sorted out.

"I am not someone like Mahi though I could easily relate to the scenes as they take place in the film. I have given my 200 per cent to the film and the kind of reactions that are coming have reassured me that I have done something well."

Moreover, the reassurance that came her way from her director further kept the motivation level up for her.

"Madhur has this perception that since he makes these hard hitting films, he would be considered very serious by people around him. However the fact is that in real life he is so much fun. He is so positive that it makes things easy on the sets.

"I may be doing a scene and he may compliment by screaming jalwa. I got used to his vocabulary over a period of time. I have made a friend in Madhur and can proudly say that together we have taken this film a step forward over what we had envisioned."

With Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda in principal roles along with Divya Dutta, Shahana Goswami and Ranvir Shorey, Heroine releases all over on September 21.

Sunny Leone to star in Ragini MMS sequel

Sunny Leone has just bagged her second Bollywood film. TheIndo-Canadian porn starwill star in Ekta Kapoor's sequel of the 2011 crossover horror hit,Ragini MMS.
"We've signed the sexy @SunnyLeoneforRagini MMS 2. Lunched with her recently and thought she was remarkably rooted & warm!" confirmed Tanuj Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures, on Twitter.
Sunny is currently shooting in Thailand for her much-hyped debut film, the Pooja Bhatt-directedJism 2. She said yes to Ekta forRagini MMS 2just before flying off to Thailand after a detailed meeting to thrash out details of the Balaji project.
Sources at Balaji said that although Sunny's casting is final, the rest of the cast and crew will be announced only after a while. The film goes on floors later this year and is scheduled for release in 2013.
"Ragini MMS 2will also be based on a real-life incident like the first film, but details are now being kept under wraps," said a source at Balaji.
Pawan Kripalani, who made an impressive directorial debut with the first film, is expected to return as director for the sequel too, although nothing is confirmed.
Ragini MMS, which was made on a shoestring budget ofRs.1.3 crore with an unknown cast, went onto grossRs.10 crore at the box-office upon release in May 2011. The film, starring Kainaz Motiwala and Rajkumar Yadav, belonged to the Found Footage genre of cinema that narrates a story through sequences that appear as if they have are random video clips.
The Found Footage genre has lately become popular in India thanks to crossover hits such asLove Sex Aur DhokhaandRagini MMS, and the sequel will also be shot in the same way, according to sources.
Sunny'sThailand stint forJism 2, produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt, is expected to be wrapped up by the end of next month. She had planned to fly back to the US after that and return only in August for promotional activity related to her debut film.
However, Sunny may now have to stay back in Mumbai after completingJism 2, to start shooting for Ekta's film.
The Canadian adult film star of Indian origin, whose real name is Karen Malhotra, was famously offeredJism 2on national television while she was a participant onBigg Boss 5last year. Mahesh Bhatt made an entry into the Bigg Boss house specially to offer Sunny a role in the film.
After her elimination fromBigg Boss, Sunny spent time preparing for her role. She took lessons in Hindi and had a crash course in acting.
Shooting forJism 2started on April 1 with a schedule in Jaipur.
The film features Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh along with Sunny.
Coming back toRagini MMS 2, Ekta, also called the queen of soaps for her string of successful TV serials, has hinted that the sequel will be bigger and more expensive than the first film, and also steamier and scarier.

With Poonam Pandey and Sunny Leone, December's hot this year!

Even though the Bhatt camp is going all overboard with porn star Sunny Leone in 'Jism 2', the director of the first 'Jism' - Amit Saxena - has roped in sexy siren Poonam Pandey for what appears as a brutal competition as far as skin show is concerned!

Sunny Leone might be good at her job, but Poonam believes herself to be excellent. And given the fact that her maiden venture inBollywood is to happen right during the time when Leone's is slated for, this strip queen is not even a teeny-weeny bit unsettled or nervous. Poonam was also heard saying that she is "neither competing with her (Leone) nor sharing my audience."

Pandey, who shot to fame with her numerous quasi-cloth-shedding endeavours post India's World Cup win last year, is now all set for her debut in the Hindi Film Industry. And her hard work doesn't come easily - it has a hefty sum of Rs. 1 crore attached to it! Yes, you read that right. The leggy Pandey is burning the pockets of Eagle Home Entertainment by a crore for her first film. And the producers are only too happy to oblige.

According to Poonam, her first film in Bollywood is one that has come after a long time - 30-odd-rejected-films-later. And with Amit Saxena (of 'Jism' fame) donning the director's hat, there's hardly any speculation as to what the sensuality quotient of the film would be.

Seems like December is where all eyes are staring at. Poonam or Sunny - who would rule the box office - is yet to be seen. But in the words of Poonam Pandey, they are good at their respective fields! We wish both of them a happy entry into Bollywood!

Salman And Akki Dont Take Their Stardom Seriously :Sonakshi Sinha

With five releases this year, Sonakshi Sinha, who debuted with the super-hit Dabangg, is in an enviable space.
Now that the first look of Rowdy Rathore is out, Sonakshi Sinha's coy glances and sexy back in a backless choli are grabbing eyeballs. Like they did at the time of Dabangg almost two years ago. Trade analyst Komal Nahta says that she's looking good in the promos and her expressions are very catchy. "She's definitely here to stay," he says. Her co-star Akshay Kumar calls her a puri bhartiya naari, while actor-turned director, Arbaaz Khan who has started filming Dabangg 2, describes her as a 'natural' actress who needs no prodding when performing.

We are on the sets of Dabangg 2 and she's sitting in her vanity van while her hairdresser arranges her long plait. The bright yellow saree, flowers in her hair, a long plait -- the look in the sequel is similar to the one she sported in Dabangg. Except, like she laughs, she lives in a bigger city, and gets to wear better sarees. She is aware that her first film was a box-office winner and all eyes will be on her when her next film, Rowdy Rathore, opens on June 1.

You have Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Son Of Sardar, Lootera and Dabangg 2 releasing this year. Does that make you nervous?
I am very excited because when I sign a film and work on the character I am very curious to see how it will turn out on screen. I am waiting for my films to release. Rowdy Rathore releases first. I feel that I am making my debut once again.

What excites you the most about Rowdy Rathore?
The fact that the film has Akshay Kumar returning to action after a long time and it's a complete masala-action entertainer, Prabhudeva style. I am also excited about my part of this spunky girl from Patna and I have done some nice dance numbers.

He's superb! Prabhudeva just needs to get used to the people around him and then he's hilarious. He has such a good sense of humour and has everyone around in splits. He gave me a chance to do some action in the film and I enjoyed it as it reminded me of my schooldays when I would participate in sports like volley ball, football, tennis, horseriding, etc.

Like Dabangg and now Dabangg 2, you will be seen as a typical Indian girl in ethnic wear in RR. Is the Indian look cramping your style?
I wear westerns for my endorsements and my shows, so if people feel I suit a certain character I don't mind! I am an Indian girl, I have an Indian face and body, so be it. What's wrong with that? I was talking to Preity Zinta the other day, and was telling her how people keep asking me why I play Indian roles and characters that are rooted to our culture. She said that when she started working, filmmakers offered her only roles that required her to wear western clothes while she craved to play more ethnic characters, but no one gave her one till Veer Zaara happened. She advised me not to worry as I was already working with the biggest directors and top co-stars.

You have been quite inaccessible of late.
That's because I am working hard. I have been all over the nation shooting for five films. I don't even have time for my workouts, and it's only the hard work that has helped keep my weight in check.

Now that you are working in big films with top actors, do you get the star treatment at home?
No way, I have double trouble at home and both my brothers still treat me and rag me like they used to as before!

What makes you feel like a star?
I am still the same. Acting is a job that I love, and look forward to going on the sets every morning. Actually the people (parents, friends) around me behave the same as before, so I feel the same too.

How's it working with Prabhudeva?
Were you in awe of Akshay Kumar when you started working with him?
No, I have never been awestruck by anyone except my father (Shatrughan Sinha). He was the only one I was completely in awe of when I was a kid and I used to take his autograph on my hand. I didn't need anyone else. When I was in class seven, Kaho Na... Pyar Hai released and all the girls went crazy over Hrithik Roshan. I also did, but very briefly. But then I have been meeting stars over the years, like Salman Khan is a family friend and my dad was doing a film with Akshay.

How has your dad, who is extremely protective about you, taken to his daughter being a big star?
He is taking his time getting used to the fact that I am very busy working. If he calls me, and I am shooting, or I cannot make it to a family event or a friend function, he goes 'Hmmm, achcha itne busy ho gayi ho'.

From the clutch of films that are releasing, which film does he like?
Of course, dad does not sit for my narrations but before signing a film, I obviously ask him because of the vast experience that he has. He has liked them all because they are all very nice and the characters are in my comfort zone and his as well. He's very happy.

You are working with Salman Khan after a year and a half. Has he changed in any way?
Salman still treats me like he did in during my first film. If I make a mistake, he makes it a point to tell me. He hardly compliments me because he says if he praises me it will go my head. I told him it's not going to go to my head and that I am doing five films now, but no, he won't!

You are his lucky mascot.
If I am it's a good thing, but don't jinx it by saying it.

How come you decide to do a sci-fi like Joker?
After Dabangg, Joker was the best thing that came along. I liked Shirish Kunder's story idea and vision because it was so different, and with a co-star like Akshay it seemed like the next natural step. And then Farah Khan and Akshay were producing it. It was a good learning experience because I learnt a lot about filming a movie to be converted into 3D.

Do you voice your opinion if you don't agree with something in a script?
I don't interfere much in terms of scripts, especially if it concerns another actor's part. If I feel there's something unnatural about my character I voice my opinion.

There is a lot of talk linking you and Ranveer Singh.
Ranveer is not my type. If there are reports it could be because someone is trying to get their film hot. It affects me at times because I am answerable to my parents.

How is he as an actor?
Oh! he's full of energy, and just the opposite of what I am as an actor. He likes to prepare for his scenes and rehearse a lot, you know what you call method acting. He continues to stay in character even when the camera is switched off. I, on the other hand, hate to rehearse and I switch off with the camera. It makes for an an interesting combination and it shows on screen. Director Vikramaditya Motvane is happy with both of us in Lootera.

You have worked with mature actors like Salman, Akshay and a relatively newcomer like Ranveer. Is there any difference between them?
There's a big difference. The established ones like Salman and Akshay don't take their work or stardom too seriously and are generally very chilled out. I like that about them and have imbibed that attitude. Like them I don't feel that I am in a race and I don't have to prove myself by showing a person down.

The younger lot are competitive and too much into their work as they are trying to make a gain a foothold in the industry.

Do you regret missing out on working with Kamal Haasan in Vishwaroopam and working in Race 2?
No, I am sure I will get a chance to work with him again. And I always believe whatever happens is for the best. I get offers from the South and I would like to do a film in another language, like a Telugu, Tamil or Bengali, but as of now my dates are a problem.

Is it true you were sceptical about doing Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 as you did not want to do another film with Akshay?
Nothing of that sort. Milan Luthria must have seen our chemistry on-screen and cast us together again. And then I am also opposite Imran Khan in the film.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy travelling. I have seen some of the most exotic places in India while shooting for my films.

What is happening to your family's production company?
My brothers will definitely do something with our production company when they are ready with the right package, in terms of a good script and director, and I would love to be part of it. Actually a lot of star kids start with their production that way but I have taken the ulta rasta.

How much does your fashion background help you, as you are constantly in the public eye?
Looking a certain way and dolling up is the least of my priorities right now. When you are working, you come home so tired that you barely want to go out. It's a pain to work on yourself and pose for the cameras. I like being casual. To dress up is a big task. But if there is an occasion, I have my designer friend and together with my inputs we put something together.

How do you feel when you see yourself on screen?
I feel weird. I don't think I will ever get used to it. I still feel a bit strange. But I guess it does not matter if I like myself or not, people should like me.

How do you react to rumours in tabloids?
I have stopped reading my interviews because journalists write the opposite of what I say. So much of it untrue. I don't even want to clarify it and now I don't even care.

Do you enjoy performing on stage?
I love it! The energy on stage is so different and I love doing the filmi dance, which is the only dance I know. I remember I tried to learn Odissi when I was young. It required a lot of squatting and I was too fat to do it and I would come home crying every day telling my mom I didn't want to do it. I learnt Kathak four years back and I enjoyed it. But I got bored. I like to keep doing different things as I get impatient.

Would you like to be part of niche cinema?
I would love to, but I have been in the industry for only one year and a half and I still trying to find a foothold here. I would say Lootera is a niche film because it's something really different.

Sunny Leone: I enjoyed working in JISM 2

Adult film actor Sunny Leone, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut with filmmaker Pooja Bhatt's JISM 2, said she never thought she will be acting in a B-town flick.

I never thought I will be making a Bollywood movie," Sunny told to a daily, "It is like a dream come true. I am living the dream right now."Speaking on her entry to JISM 2, the bombshell said, "This just happened. Bigg Boss asked me to be on the show and from there all this happened. JISM 2 is the most amazing thing that ever happened in my career."

Sunny also said that she enjoyed the entire experience of working in JISM 2.

She even disclosed the fact that 'Karen Malhotra' is not her real name as mentioned on several internet portals. The porn star stormed into the Indian small screen by participating in popular Indian reality show 'Bigg Boss 5'.

Paoli Dam's bare back painted in Hate Story posters

As Bengali actor Paoli Dam makes her Bollywood debut in Vikram Bhatt's erotic thriller Hate Story, her posters are being painted blue in the city to hide her bare back following orders of the Kolkata High Court. The film's regional distributors Kushagra Arts and cinema hall owners are now covering the bare skin of the Bengali bombshell by colouring it with blue ink.
Justice Dipankar Dutta of the High Court yesterday refused to stay an order by the West Bengal Board of Censorship, which had directed the distributors not to display the posters showing the actress in sensuous positions.

Describing them as "obscene and provocative", the Censor board had banned two posters - one showing Paoli's bare back and the other of her in a compromising position with a man.

Six other posters were cleared only after blotting out the bare body of the actress with blue ink.

Admitting that the posters of his film are being modified with ink, director Vivek Agnihotri told PTI from Mumbai that the move by the state government run Censor board would only help in the publicity of his film.

"I am getting more publicity because of this. My film is now bigger than it was earlier," he said. With only her bare back visible, and a strategically placed gun and tattoo in the main poster of the film, Paoli created a tremendous buzz all over the country.

"If I make a film on football, I will have football in the posters. But this is about sex and so a bare body will be on the posters to tell people what my film is all about," Agnihotri said.

'Hate Story' is based on a woman's vengeance and how she uses her sexuality as a lethal weapon as she transforms herself from a simple middle class journalist to a sex worker.

The film, which also stars Nikhil Dwivedi and Gulshan Devaiah, hits theatres this Friday.

Sunny Leone, Poonam Pandey...there's always space for new people, feels Minissha

Bollywood actor Minissha Lamba

Minissha Lamba is in a serene state of mind right now. Just back from a vacation in Goa, the lady is busy reading books and watching movies. When I texted her for an interview, she replied almost immediately asking me to forward the questions with a smiley.

"Back to the grind.. Goa is over.. Sadly so.. welcomed back to the sound of drilling in my society.. How pleasant!" Minissha had tweeted.

The actor's Well Done Abba won a National award and Bheja Fry 2 couldn't exactly set the box-office  on fire. Her Hum Tum Shabana could not mint the moolah but was able to stir up a couple of controversies (Director Sagar Ballary accused critics of unfair reviews). Coming up next is Joker and Zilla Ghaziabad. So what does the gorgeous lady like to do, when not shooting?"When not acting, it's a lot of reading that I'm doing. Watching movies that I've missed and working out hard," says the actress.

The Yahaan girl is certainly having the time of her life as she's just returned from a vacation to Goa. "Goa is always beautiful. Wanted to soak in the last days of it before it becomes off season," the actor told me.

At this point, I thought it was just the right time to pose a rather personal question to her - Is there really someone special in her life, as reported by media?

"I'm always surrounded by special people," she adds naughtily. I could sense she's neither completely denying the news nor she wants to share the details of her love life right now. We'll wait for the apt time, I guess!

Steering the conversation back to her career, I ask her how it was working in Joker with 3D technology, which is relatively new to Bollywood.

"We're one of the fortunate film industries that have started shooting in 3D technology. Even ahead of some European nations. It feels great. We speak of advancement and making films on standard that's international. Slowly but surely, we are getting there," Minissha said.here's another thing that's rather surprising about the lady. She's in news only when her films are about to hit theatres, something which does not work in the favour of actors these days. What does she have to say about this?

"I have always maintained that I should be known for my work. I'm secure with who I am and don't need the support of sensational headlines to feel like people know me. Films are forever. That's where my pride in my work comes from." Point taken! But Bollywood is a competitive space. With a flurry of bold actresses like Sunny Leone, Poonam Pandey and Paoli Dam jumping onto the Bollywood bandwagon, we wonder what her thoughts are on the changing face of Bollywood.

"We make so many films in a year. There is always space for new people..new ideas. I'm loving the flexibility," says Minissha.

I think I'm loving that reply too. On this note, we wrap up the interview.

Salman Khan in Dubai.

The Dabangg actor announced at a press conference in Mumbai earlier this month that he was eyeing the UAE market for selling merchandise to support his charity Being Human.

“I want to take Being Human through the roof. Even though we will run it as a business, the idea is not to treat it as one. Whatever money we make from it will go back to the charity and the country,” Khan was quoted as saying by Indian media.tabloid! can confirm that the actor will partner with high-street retailer Splash in the Middle East. While the merchandise will be available from May, Khan’s appearance and Dubai date is still uncertain.
The actor has recently spoken out against rip-offs of his Being Human-branded products flooding the market.
“These dogs are sick people who don’t realise that this is money not for big corporations but for poor, underprivileged people. They are stealing from them. They should be ashamed of themselves,” Khan said during his last visit to Dubai.

The Being Human Foundation supports under-prividleged children by giving them free education and medical treatment in Mumbai. Funds are raised through the sale of merchandise including t-shirts, jeans and watches.

Khan war: Like Salman, Aamir also skips Shahrukh

The three Khans of Bollywood are well renowned for their digs at each other from time to time. Even as ‘Being Human’ star Salman maintains silence over his relations with Shahrukh, superstar Aamir Khan also takes the ‘silent’ path when queried about Shahrukh. Aamir who is busy with the promotion of his latest celluloid venture ‘Satyamev Jayate’ completely distanced himself away from speaking about Shahrukh or his path on the Telly Tube. Speaking at a recent press conference, the ‘Ghajini’ star was appreciating the dedication of his crew in compiling the show. He mentioned to the press that he ‘loved Amitabhji’s Kaun Banega Crorepati, Hrithik’s dance show and Salman’s Dus ka Dum’.

He also said that he ‘enjoyed watching these shows’. Shahrukh is a regular on the television channels with his stints in various shows. Aamir was prompted to respond regarding Shahrukh Khan, who has a regular presence in a number of shows of KBC, Zor Ka Jhatka and Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain, amongst others. Aamir conveniently ignored the query and said that he would never host a game show but may participate in them. Aamir in his many interviews had mentioned that he has no contentions against SRK but with the kind of responses that one witnesses, it is clear that he does not endorse ‘King Khan’ from his side. Well, even as rumours speculate that the three Khans may be seen together in ‘one film’, one wonders who will play the hero and villain in this unique venture.

Suzuki Motorcycle to ride on Salman Khan

Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced Bollywood actor Salman Khan as its first brand ambassador for India. For the Dabangg star, this is quite a turnaround. There was a time when brands refused to touch the black buck scandal tainted actor, fearing the association would sully their image. But with hits like Dabangg and Bodyguard under his belt, brand Salman has seen a revamp of sorts.

His philanthropic work with Being Human has also made his fans se the softer side of his personality. From a soft drink beverage to a detergent brand, Salman seems to be on an endorsement spree. Besides a record deal with travel company Yatra, Salman has recently also been the brand ambassador for the channel History. Recent endorsement deals have now put him in league with counterparts Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan in the brands deal sweepstakes.

Salman Khan will spearhead Suzuki's above-the-line and below-the-line initiatives. Ms. Anu Anamika, National Marketing Head, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “It was important to find a human face who can best portray and project our brand and product promise. Salman Khan is a passionate biker and a discerning brand endorser. We also find broad synergy in his social initiatives such as ‘Being Human'.”

The first campaign featuring Salman will be based on the recently launched mass market motorcycle, Hayate and will be breaking shortly.

Suzuki Motorcyle will be increasing its annual capacity from the current 3.6 lakh units to 5.4 lakh units by 2013, while doubling the sales and service network in the next two years. It is also expected to set up a second plant in Haryana at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore, with a capacity for 20 lakh units. This will start operations in 2014.

Bollywood actress is kidnapped and beheaded by actors

Meenakshi Thapar

YOUNG Bollywood actress Meenakshi Thapar was allegedly kidnapped and beheaded by two struggling actors in attempt to extort €20,000 from her family.

Meenakshi Thapar, 26, who had appeared in the Indian horror film 404 last year, met the two aspiring actors who allegedly later killed her on the set of her latest film, Heroine.

Amit Jaiswal, 36, and his lover Preeti Surin, allegedly decided to kidnap Ms Thapar after listening to her boast about her family’s wealth and status in Dehra Dun, in the Himalayan foothills of northern India.

They allegedly invited her on a trip with them to Gorakhpur, a small town close to India’s border with Nepal and known for its Buddhist temples, where they held her hostage and sent a message to Ms Thapar’s Nepali parents demanding 1,500,000 Rupees (€20,000).

According to police, her ‘fellow actors’ warned her mother they would force her daughter to take part in pornography films if their demands were not met.

Her mother paid 60,000 Rupees (€886) into her daughter’s account for her kidnappers to withdraw, but she was allegedly killed soon after. She was strangled to death, beheaded, and her body was dumped at two different sites as her killers made their way back to Mumbai. Her torso was dumped in a water tank and her head thrown out of the bus window in a bag on the road to Mumbai.
Jaiswal and Surin were later caught in possession of Ms Thapar’s mobile phone SIM and confessed to the murder.According to police, the couple had fled to Mumbai from their home in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, after Jaiswal’s wife discovered their affair. They had moved to India’s film city hoping to find stardom in its Bollywood studios.“We are still investigating the case and both the accused along with a police team are visiting the crime spot. We have yet to recover the body.
“They wanted to extort money from her family. They have confessed to the crime. She was strangulated in a hotel and her body was hacked into pieces and thrown in a water tank. They threw her head from a moving bus while traveling back to Mumbai,” a detective leading the inquiry said.

Salman is the best: Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha is just one film old, but the lass is already working with some of the big names in the film industry. Having made her debut in the industry with Salman Khan in 'Dabangg', Sona believes that she wouldn't have got a better start in her career, thus negating rumours of trouble in paradise with her mentor.

"Salman and Arbaaz (Khan) saw me at a college fashion show, and asked me to be Rajjo in their film. I hesitated at first as I wasn't sure. But when an actor like Salman Khan feels that you have what it takes to be an actor, you can't not believe him. When I was convinced and ready for the role, he mentored me through not just acting, but also my gymming and well being."

So what about all those stories of tension between the two on the sets of 'Dabangg 2'? "Firstly, after 'Dabangg' released it took me two months to really accept the fact that the film had reached such massive levels and that audiences loved me. Post that, both of us were busy with our respective projects, but whenever we met at events or functions we were as comfortable with each other as we were during the shooting of the film. Rumours of a problem between us amuses us no end, as many a times when they're busy making us fight, we're actually having fun shooting for the film. I have immense respect for Salman. He is the best. Why would we have any problems with each other?" retorts Sona.

The actress, however, does reveal her plans to keep the fashion designer in her alive. "Acting was never part of the plan. I was very keen on fashion designing, but destiny had other plans for me. I plan to do something in fashion when I get some time off from acting. May be start an affordable line for Indian bodies, who ain't really size zero kinds. Lots of times, I've seen young girls find it difficult to get their size clothes. I'll also ensure that the designs are more suited to our climate. I keep in mind all these factors even while endorsing a brand. As they say, you can take a person out of fashion, but not the style sense out of the person," smiles Sona.

Poonam Pandey to star in a 'bold' film

Kingfisher modelPoonam Pandey, who made all possible efforts to stay in the limelight, has reportedly got a Bollywood film offer. If reports are to be believed, she is all set to sign the "boldest film ever in Bollywood".
Poonam, who shot to fame after promising to strip naked if Indian cricket team won the World Cup, has been posting her racy pictures on social micro-blogging site Twitter. She has won many fans online by her dare-bare acts.
According to a tabloid website, Vipin Medhekar, her financial strategist, confirmed the news of her Bollywood project and said that the first look of the film will be out soon, by the end of April or first week of May.
Reports said that the official announcement will be made by the end of this month.
There were reports suggesting that it will be a biopic on Poonam. But it looks like that is not the case. Aditya Bhatia, the national marketing head of the Production house has reportedly said that the film will show Poonam in a different light.

Salman Khan To Gift BMW TO Kareena Kapoor.

Salman Khan is known for splurging on expensive gifts for his friends and Kareena Kapoor seems to be the latest one to get lucky. The actor will reportedly be gifting his Bodyguard co-star a BMW in return for her item number in Dabangg 2.

Kareena, who apparently didn't charge a penny for the special appearance, will supposedly be rewarded for her generosity. And how!

Kareena apparently wants her number to be different and wants it promoted as an important part of the film and not just like another item number.

The Chammak Challo star has openly admitted that Salman is her favourite Khan and seems like the admiration is mutual. The two have starred together in Kyon Ki (2005), Main Aurr Mrs Khanna (2009) and Bodyguard (2011).

Salman is not the only bighearted Khan. Recently, there was buzz about SRK pampering Katrina Kaif with gifts too.

Azhar Mahmood Says Ind-Pak Are Border-Less.

CHANDIGARH: At 37 and a few months, former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood with his ripped warrior-like broad chest looks no different from any other Punjabi from India.
But, when the player -- the only one from across the border to play in this IPL -- returned from Mohali's PCA stadium after his first practice session for Team Punjab on Monday, he couldn't help but dismiss the rift between Pakistan and India, saying "that having been brought up in Punjab in Pakistan and having seen Punjab in India, he still harbours a wishful thought of seeing the two countries as border-less nations".

"My dada (grandpa) was born and brought up in Amritsar. Even when he moved to Multan's Jahaniamandi in Pakistan, his mind would race back to memories of his youthful days of that vast nation. So much that he would regale us like a raconteur with bedtime stories from this pre-Partition days - how they would make halwa and chapatis together. It's no different world," Mahmood gushed, while sharing his childhood memories with The Times of India.

The swashbuckling cricketer, who took the world by storm when he scored three centuries against South Africa in late 90s, said that cricket was the best way to remove the obstruction of check posts at the border between the two nations. The cricketer said that when he got the opportunity to represent Team Punjab, he kept on drawing parallel between habits of the people from regions that share the same name in the two rival nations.

Mahmood, now a British passport-holder, is making his debut in the IPL after Team Punjab bought him for $200,000.
"My wife used to shop from Sector 17 in Chandigarh a lot. She phoned me last evening and kept talking about Indian sarees and suits we bought from this market. It's the same. The culture, the way we shop, pick and choose and of course bargain," Mahmood laughed.
He said that he was glad he got an opportunity to speak in Punjabi to so many people that the hotel he was staying in."Pindi (Rawalpindi) and Islamabad are like the similar twin cities as Mohali and Chandigarh," he gushed, adding, "In UK, I converse with my wife in Urdu and with rest of people, I have to talk in English. I am so delighted to be speaking in chaste Punjabi here".

Box
'I've more pals in India than Pak'
Former Pakistan cricket all-rounder Azhar Mahmood said he now has more friends in India than in Pakistan. "I have really have found good friends with Zaheer, Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan Singh. In fact, Nehra even helped me sort the recent visa trouble I faced." Mahmood's visa had earlier allowed one entry point - New Delhi - into the country and destination as Chandigarh. However, the issue was resolved on Sunday, allowing him to travel with his team at all the places they play the country.

Akshay Kumar follows Salman Khan to the T!

One can't help but applaud Salman Khan for the trend he has set, and most actors seem to be earning more out of it then they could ever imagine...

After Salman's Dabangg act, and with subsequently similar roles in Ready and Bodyguard, it's Akshay Kumar's turn now to do a Salman Khan in Rowdy Rathore. The actor may be returning to an action role after seven long years, but the role isn't very different from our Chulbul Pandey, a policeman who indulged in action, and mouthed senseless yet punchy dialogues that made you giggle.

Akshay does the same thing in Rowdy Rathore. While his role in the film is an action one, he has dialogues like "Don't angry me!" And to top it all, Akshay, like Salman, will be dancing to steps choreographed by Prabhu Deva - not a very easy task!

Now, we just have to wait and watch if Akki's shirt tears at the end of it all.

Shahrukh, Salman Emerge Mumbai's Highest Tax Payers

MUMBAI: Several Bollywood stars emerged as the biggest tax payers from Mumbai, with the two Khans -Shahrukh and Salman - leading the pack by paying 15 crore each in taxes during the financial year ending March 31, 2012.

While Shahrukh's tax outgo was 20% less than last year's, Salman's was 20% higher in 2011-12.

Shahrukh had two hits last year under his belt, Ra.One and Don 2. According to industry reports, Shahrukh charges a fee of 30-35 crore per film, and around 6-7 crore for his endorsements.
Salman, who also had two big hits last year - Ready and Bodyguard -- reportedly charges 40 crore per film and has an endorsement rate of 1.5 crore a day.

Bachchan, popular for his game show Kaun Banega Crorepati apart from his movie roles, paid a tax of 7 crore. But Bachchan's tax outgo declined by 10% compared to 2010-11. The veteran actor's earnings largely come from KBC, where he charges a fee of 1.25 crore per episode.

According to industry reports, Bachchan charges an endorsement fee of 1-2 crore, while his movie fees range from 2-3 crore per film. Saif Ali Khan Pataudi, the hero of Agent Vinod, too paid 7 crore, which is 50 % higher than the tax he paid the previous year.

Ranbir Kapoor, the actor who caught the fancy of many with his role in Rockstar, also paid 7 crore. Kapoor charges 10 crore per film and his endorsement fee is between 1.5-2 crore.
A senior income-tax official said, "A significant part of the leading film stars' income come from fees for promotions and endorsements. The fees are determined by the market value of the stars in the film industry."

Guess what SRK and Salman have in common?

Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan has done it yet again as he replaces the Khiladi Akshay Kumar as the number one tax payer from Bollywood for the financial year ending 31 March 2012.

But hold on. He’s not alone at the top. Rival Salman Khan is has also shelled out as much. The duo has paid Rs 15 crore each as taxes for FY12, said an Economic Times report today.

The duo has paid Rs 15 crore each as tax for FY12

Even though both the Khans had two big hits last year, what’s interesting is the tax outgo. While Shah Rukh’s tax outgo was 20 percent less than last year’s, Salman’s was 20 percent higher in 2011-12, said the report.

Also it seems like Salman Khan has a marginally higher brand value than SRK as the former charges Rs 40 crore per movie and Rs 1.5 crore per day for endorsements, while the latter charges around Rs 35 crore for a movie and Rs six to seven crore for endorsements.

Meanwhile Saif Ali Khan Pataudi, Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor paid Rs 7 crore each as tax.

Does Katrina Kaif talks about Salman Khan with Shahrukh?

Mumbai: Katrina Kaif has all the luck because she gets 'protection' from not one but two Khans even though her protectors are themselves rivals.

According to reports, while shooting for their film in London, Shahrukh Khan was so caring about Katrina that he assigned his own bodyguards to keep her away from overzealous fans. Katrina is believed to have not employed her own bodyguards while shooting for an untitled romantic film under Yash Raj productions.

London being her home, Katrina loves travelling without security but due to her immense popularity among the sizeable number of Indian community, she needed some protection. That was when the 'large hearted' SRK decided to provide his own bodyguards for her safety.

Not only this, reports say that Shahrukh also asked his team to get some warm clothing for Katrina to beat the chilly London weather.

Buzz is that Katrina has grown close to SRK to the extent that she discusses her personal life with him. We wonder if she mentions her other 'protector', Salman Khan, in her conversations with Shahrukh.

Mr India 2 will be made in 3D

The sequel to Boney Kapoor's 1987's super hit film Mr. India will be made in 3D. The film will star Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles. Reportedly, Boney has roped in foreign technicians to do the special effects for the sequel to this science fiction film which has been tentatively titled Mr India 2

The film however, will go on floors in 2012 after the release of No Entry 2. It is expected to hit the theatres in November 2014. The script and the director of the film has not yet been finalized, however the original director of the film Shekhar Kapoor will surely be an intricate part of Mr India 2.
Mr. India 2 will mark as a come back of the superhit jodi of actor Anil Kapoor and Sridevi after Judaai in 1997. Anil will continue to play Arun Verma and Sridevi will feature as Seema Sohni. Boney Kapoor is keen on roping in Salman Khan for the villains part, which in original was earlier played by Amrish Puri as 'Mogambo'. Reportedly, he has planned to rope in international experts to create a very menacing look for Salman.

If the superstar agrees to do the project, this will the first time that Salman will play a negative role on-screen. Boney Kapoor's son Arjun Kapoor will also feature in this film and a newcomer star opposite him. Like Mr India the sequel will also be a musical genius. Oscar winner composer AR Rahman has been roped in for composing the music for the film.

The film will be produced by Boney Kapoor in association Sahara Motion Pictures.

The man behind Arjun Kapoor's Bollywood career

One just needs the Bollywood gold mine Salman Khan's midas touch to receive a successful filmy break. After Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Zarine Khan, here's the golden chance for producer Boney Kapoor's son Arjun Kapoor to bloom under Sallu's shelter.

Though Salman is not launching Arjun, it is said that the young actor has chosen an acting career on Salman's insistence. A source informed a leading daily, Arjun wanted to become a director, but life took a sharp turn when Arjun was assisting Prabhu Deva onWanted.

Salman, the lead actor of Wanted insisted Arjun to lose weight and go-ahead for an acting career. Salman's ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif too is very fond of Arjun and supports him immensely. Arjun will be soon seen inIshaqzaade, opposite to Parineeti Chopra.

Why Salman Khan’s rooting for Arjun Kapoor

Newbie Arjun Kapoor who will be seen making his debut in Ishaqzaade seems to be garnering a lot of support already, more so from actor SalmanKhan. In fact, the Internet's abuzz withSalman and his family and friends all rooting for the newcomer.
But for all those who thought that the reason behind it is the Khan’s kid sister Arpita, who was apparently dating Arjun some time back, well there’s more.According to sources, the actor is being heavily backed and supported by Salman, because it was the star who, apparently got Arjun to become an actor in the first place. Very much like actor Sonakshi Sinha, who left designing and turned actor on Salman’s insistence. Though Salman’s not launching Arjun, it was on his insistence that Boney Kapoor’s son actually considered acting.
A source close to the newbie reveals that Arjun was actually keen to become a director and was actively assisting several filmmakers as the assistant director on films including Kal Ho Na Ho. “Back then, he weighed more than 140 kgsand had no inclination of turning an actor at all. But while he was assistingPrabhudeva on WantedSalman told him that he had the potential to become an actor and it was on his insistence that he decided to lose weight and give it a shot,” says the source. “On the sets of WantedSalman kept observingArjun minutely. And while Arjun was very good at what he was doing, Salmanstrongly felt that he saw an actor in him. Salman sat Arjun down and said he shouldn’t waste more time learning direction and production and should work towards becoming an actor,” confirms a source close to the star.
“Salman totally took him under his wing, keeping a close tab on the actor’s progress and guided him through the transformation, right from losing weight to grooming as an actor,” adds the source.
Incidentally, both the mentor and the protégée will be seen in Yash Chopra films this year. While Arjun’s making a debut in their film IshaqzaadeSalmantoo is working with the Chopras in Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger.
