Salman Khan has been working the graveyard shift at Kamalistan Studios in Mumbai for the sequel to his 2010 super hit, Dabangg, titled Dabangg 2. Salman has been filming a qawwali with co star Sonakshi Sinha in the sequence during the midnight shift. The set constructed at the studio was glittering with neon lights and kitsch decor as Salman turned his inner Chulbul Pandey on for the cameras.

Brother Arbaaz Khan, who produced the earlier film that was directed by Abhinav Kashyap, has now taken to directing the sequel. This is Arbaaz’s first film as director and with his star brother around, he is definitely in good hands. With the thunderous success that Dabangg garnered at the box office, it seems likely that this time around, too, the brothers are looking at a big hit at the box office. Dabangg 2 is scheduled to release in December this year.
Malaika Arora-Khan who had performed on the item song, Munni Badnaam Hui in Dabangg, which went on to become a national craze, will not be repeating her sultry dance moves this time around. A new Munni is on the anvil, but no name has been finalised yet for the sequel’s item number.
Salman commenced work on Dabangg 2 soon after he wrapped his schedule for Yash Raj’s romantic thriller Ek Tha Tiger in Cuba with Katrina Kaif. Ek Tha Tiger, directed by Kabir Khan (Kabul Express, New York) is looking to release on Eid in August this year.
